Crestview, Fla. native, Staff Sgt. Matthew McKeon Sr. (middle), an infantryman assigned to the 2nd “Lancer” Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, conquered his opponent during the championship bout of the Fort Hood Combatives Tournament, Feb. 23 at Fort Hood, Texas. McKeon won first place in the cruiserweight category of the tournament. “After the fight I was smiling from ear to ear.
