Damage Controlman 3rd Class Ehdie Sackey renders a salute at a Battle of Midway remembrance ceremony at Alliance Park on Naval Air Facility Atsugi to honor the friendship and alliance between the U.S. and Japan. The ceremony was held to pay tribute to the patriotism, perseverance, heroism, and sacrifice of Japanese and Americans alike. The wreaths placed at the foot of each flagpole were a symbol of the respect held for those who served in defense of their countries and were used to represent the friendship and alliance that now stands between the United States and Japan.
