Dan Spangler, a local business owner and Marine Corps veteran, gives a motivational speech to competitors of the Battle for Business competition at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., June 2, 2018. Spangler gave the competitors tips and ideas on how to improve and grow their businesses. Spangler was medically retired from the Marine Corps and has since gone on to create a successful local business. The Battle for Business was hosted by the Marine and Family Programs’ Personal and Professional Development Program to help service members, spouses and veterans grow and develop their businesses.
