description

Summary

Demetric Smith, a Soldier with the 541st Transportation Company out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, runs down the court during an exhibition basketball game against the Mlodziezowy Klub Sportowy Wrzesnia basketball team at the Primary School Hall 6 in Wrzesnia, Poland, Jan. 26.
The first half of the game was dominated by the physical play of the Soldiers and their impressive offensive drive to maintain the lead going into halftime.
In the second half, however, the level play of the Polish team proved to be a match for the Soldiers with MKS Wrzesnia taking the lead late in the third quarter.
The fans erupted in cheers, when the buzzer rang to end the game. The score was 99 to 79 in favor of MKS Wrzesnia.
“We came together from multiple units and different components to play a great game of basketball,” said Command Sgt. Maj. Jeremiah Winn, command sergeant major for the 191st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion out of Salt Lake City, Utah. “Overall, the game strengthened our bond with the Polish people and our overall resolve.” (U.S. Army photos by: Sgt. NARA keeps those Federal records that are judged to have continuing value—about 2 to 5 percent of those generated in any given year. There are approximately 10 billion pages of textual records; 12 million maps, charts, and architectural and engineering drawings; 25 million still photographs and graphics; 24 million aerial photographs; 300,000 reels of motion picture film; 400,000 video and sound recordings; and 133 terabytes of electronic data. The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
