Summary
EAST CHINA SEA (April 11, 2020) Cpl. David Leavitt, a machine gunner with Combined Anti-Armor Team 2, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), practices inserting an intravenous needle into Lance Cpl. Andrew R. Bray, a combat photographer with the 31st MEU, while conducting combat medical training aboard the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42). The training gave the Marines a greater familiarity with medical equipment and how to utilize it in a combat scenario. Germantown, part of the America Expeditionary Strike Group, 31st MEU team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
