The two, who see each other about once a year, have seen much more of each other after being stationed at KAF a few months prior. Lynn, a Kiwoa pilot, will be leaving to take command of an aviation maintenance brigade at an outlying southern forward operation base, but Carl, an information operations planning officer, will remain at KAF. "This is such an amazing privilege," Carl says of the opportunity to share part of his first deployment with his son, who has served two previous deployments.
