Field Kitchen Soldiers of the 165th Infantry Regiment, the Army’s famous “Fighting 69th” Irish regiment, move into position to replace French troops near St. Clement, France, March 2, 1918. The troops, part of the 42nd Infantry “Rainbow” Division, spent March 1918 under French command to gain combat experience in trench warfare of the Western Front.
