FORT MEADE, MD - Staff SergeantDominick Valerio, a U.S. Marine and firearms instructor with Marine Security Forces from the Barracks at 8th and I checks another Marine's weapon during a small arms training course at the firing range at Fort Meade, Maryland on April 7th, 2016.
During this training, the Marines focused their efforts on drill and movement with the M9 pistol and M4 carbine. The movement portion of the course, completed while wearing a hevay kevlar vest, helmet and gear, was designed to simulate real-world stress that the Marine might encounter in the field

The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad.
