FRCE engineers, artisans innovate to get F/A-18 back in the air
Summary
Corey Dunn, right, a machinist work leader in Fleet Readiness Center East’s production department, explains how he used a metal holding plate to apply pressure to the perimeter of an F/A-18 panel manufactured on the machine in the background, as he discusses the production process with Jonathan Jarman, left, lead at FRCE’s Digital Data Center, and Brett Kinlaw, a programmer with the Digital Data Center. The team worked together to manufacture the critically needed component using nontraditional methods in order to get an F/A-18 Legacy Hornet back in the air at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina.
