Gen. John M. Paxton, Jr., assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, watches Marines of Battery A, Ground Combat Element Integrated Task Force, conduct gun drills with the M777 Howitzer during the assistant commandant’s visit at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Oct. 28, 2014. The assistant commandant of the Marine Corps visited with GCEITF leaders, Marines, and sailors to provide guidance for future training. From October 2014 to July 2015, the Ground Combat Element Integrated Task Force will conduct individual and collective skills training in designated combat arms occupational specialties in order to facilitate the standards based assessment of the physical performance of Marines in a simulated operating environment performing specific ground combat arms tasks.
