Hugh McCauley, owner of Hugh's Culinary in Oakland Park, Fla., places a dish of food made by sea service culinary professional contestants between Fleet Week Galley Wars 2011 judges, Vice Adm. More than 2,500 sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen participated in Fleet Week Port Everglades, which has become a south Florida tradition, honoring the sea services and establishing relationships through community outreach, public tours of sea surface platforms, and general tourism.
