Summary
Idaho Army National Guard Sgt.1st Class Raymond Garry continues welding. While the Allied Trades section produces artistic industrial products, welding and working with the water jet cutter is a hazardous trade and precautions are required to avoid injuries.
The Idaho Army National Guard’s Combined Services Maintenance Shop on Gowen Field provides sustainment level maintenance for most of the guard's operational needs throughout Idaho. CSMS supports seven Field Maintenance Shops at armories throughout the state. Along with providing the support for operational units of the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team, the CSMS supports Idaho Army National Guard aviation units and the 20th Regional Training Institute. The 204th RTI trains active duty and guard soldiers as cavalry scouts, Abrams tank crews and maintainers as well as Bradley Fighting Vehicle crews. If it moves on wheels or tracks, the CSMS repairs and services. The CSMS operations include an electronics support shop and allied trades section that is skilled in fabricating and repairing metals.
During 2019 the CSMS completed work on 2850 maintenance requests in support of the Idaho Army national Guard. The CSMS motto - We Will Find A Way “ was born from the desire to provide outstanding customer service with a willingness to find a way to help that customer.
