Iraqi soldiers inspect a vehicle during a patrol through the streets of Al Hawz. Marines with 4th Platoon, Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines (E 2/5), 3rd Infantry Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force and Iraqi soldiers conducted a presence patrol in Al Hawz to increase the visibility of security forces to the local population and to deny any actions from anti-Iraqi forces. E 2/5 is deployed with Multi-National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
