KUCHING, Malaysia (April 3, 2019) – Malaysian officials and Pacific Partnership 2019 personnel discuss disaster crisis management contingencies during a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief tabletop exercise at Sarawak State Library as part of Pacific Partnership 2019. The exercise allowed civilian and military officials to discuss policies and procedures for responding to various stages of natural disasters and emergencies. Pacific Partnership, now in its 14th iteration, is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Each year the mission team works collectively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security and stability in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.
