Lance Cpl. Christopher A. Taylor, a sensor operator for the ground sensor platoon, 2nd Intelligence Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force, and a native of Baltimore, Md., places a patch of Earth carefully over the top of an Encoder Transmitter Unit 2 ground sensor while teaching placement and concealment techniques to British soldiers of the 5, 6, and 7 Military Intelligence Battalions, 1 Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Brigade, during Exercise Phoenix Odyssey on Sept. 15, 2014. The day’s training focused on the emplacement, concealment and use of ground sensors for intelligence gathering. The two forces have been training in a Military Operations in Urban Terrain facility on Camp Lejeune as part of a week long, scenario driven, bilateral exercise.
