Lance Cpl. Cody C. Kurfman translates the fire mission procedures to Director General Tatsuo Yamamoto during a media day tour at the East Fuji Maneuver Area Sept. 14. Kurfman is fluent in Japanese and translated between the Japanese officials and the commanding officer of 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, during the Artillery Relocation Training Program 12-2. Yamamoto is the director general of the South Kanto Defense Bureau. Kurfman is a special communications signals collection operator with III MEF Headquarters Group, III MEF, supporting 3rd Bn., 12th Marines.
