Lance Cpl. Noel Guliano, from Los Angeles, is strapped onto a stretcher during a mass casualty drill during exercise Blue Chromite 15 Nov. 6 at Camp Schwab, Japan. Blue Chromite demonstrates the Marine Corps’ expeditionary capabilities in the Pacific region. Guliano was part of a group of role players simulating casualties of an enemy counter-attack toward the end of Blue Chromite. Sailors from 3rd Medical Battalion setup a shock trauma platoon to care for the simulated injuries. A mass casualty is declared when there are more patients than available beds. Guliano is a motor vehicle operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 4, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
