LESZNO, Poland –Soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division observe a remembrance ceremony honoring the Greater Poland Uprising of 1918-19, Jan. 17, 2017. Jan. 17 marked the 97th anniversary of the day when German occupation of the newly-independent country of Poland ended. The Soldiers were invited to the ceremony by Polish Maj. Gen. Jaroslaw Mika, commander, 11th “Lubuska” Armored Cavalry Division, who also attended the ceremony. The arrival of 3rd Arm. Bde. Cmbt. Tm., 4th Inf. Div., marks the start of back-to-back rotations of armored brigades in Europe as part of Atlantic Resolve. This rotation will enhance deterrence capabilities in the region, improve the U.S. ability to respond to potential crises and defend allies and partners in the European community. U.S. forces will focus on strengthening capabilities and sustaining readiness through bilateral and multinational training and exercises.
