Marines assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Training Squadron 302, Marine Aircraft Group 29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing listen as Brig. Gen. Matthew Glavy addresses the squadron aboard Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C., Dec. 16, 2016. Glavy visited the squadron to recognize a recent “safety win” by a six-man tow crew with the unit. The six Marine airframe mechanics, Cpl. Eugene Null, Cpl. Nicholas Bloom, Lance Cpl. Tyler Yoder, Lance Cpl. Jacob Hedtke, Lance Cpl. Brock Phillips and Pfc. Javier Jackson, each received a coin for successfully completing their mission. 2nd MAW’s “Safety Win” program focuses on how pilots and maintainers ensure the execution of correct procedures to safely and successfully accomplish the mission.
