Summary
Marines with combat cargo aboard the USS Oak Hill (LSD-51) use chains to tie down an M1A1 Abrams tank aboard the ship during a certification exercise off the coast of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., June 16. The tank was moved to the ship by a Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) and will be used during the scenario-based amphibious integration exercise, which extends from June 15-30. The 26th MEU and the Kearsarge Amphibious Readiness Group are being certified by evaluators with the Expeditionary Operations Training Group (EOTG) in preparation for a deployment later this fall.
