Members of the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade tear down a CH-47 Chinook at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti Feb 3, 2017, in preparation for redeployment. Each aircraft requires almost six hours to completely tear down for transport. The 82d CAB supported the Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa by rapidly deploying in support of the Global Response Force to conduct decisive aviation operations worldwide. Enabling the ground force commander with air assault, air movement, attack, recon and medevac capabilities. Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa is a multinational effort to conduct theater security cooperation, combat violent extremism and enable freedom of movement within East Africa in order to defend U.S. interests and support aligned regional efforts.
