NAVAL AIR STATION CORPUS CHRISTI – (April 14, 2019) Navy Counselor 1st Class Roberto Benitez of Los Angeles, leading petty officer, assigned to Navy Recruiting Station (NRS) South Corpus Christi, speaks with a family about life in America’s Navy at the Navy’s Virtual Reality Experience, the NIMITZ, during the 2019 Wings Over South Texas Air Show featuring the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels. Recruiters from Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio were on-hand to engage eligible attendees on a possible career in America’s Navy and to spread Navy Awareness. Benitez, a 1993 graduate of Huntington Park High School, joined America’s Navy in 1996 becoming a recruiter in 2012. The mission of the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron is to showcase the pride and professionalism of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country through flight demonstrations and community outreach. NRD San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes more than 30 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
