Nearing the end of their time in Norway, Minnesota
Summary
Nearing the end of their time in Norway, Minnesota National Guard soldiers and airmen were given a guided tour of Stiklestad, a historic battleground from the year 1030. During their stay, the troops were taught the history of the Viking saint-king who was believed to have died upon a stone in that very spot, which is now believed to have healing powers to those who touch it. Following their visit to the Stiklelstad church, the troops walked to recreation of a Viking long house, where they learned about Viking gods and the traditions of Viking chieftains.
