New York Army National Guard search and extraction team members assigned to Bravo Company, 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, practice techniques for rescues in collapsed buildings, including blocking and bracing to gain leverage to move heavy cement obstacles in confined spaces during Homeland Response Force training at Lakehurst Naval Air Station at Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst in Lakehurst, N.J. November 16, 2019. The engineers serve as part of the Homeland Response Force for FEMA Region 2 and conducted response training for chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear (CBRN) incidents. More than 600 Soldiers and Airmen of the New York and New Jersey National Guard participated in the training to prepare for the task force capabilities to conduct casualty evacuation, decontamination and medical triage under CBRN conditions.
