Part of the search and extraction team from the Nebraska National Guard prepares to aid the “victims” of an earthquake as part Operation Borinqueneer Response March 17 at Camp Santiago Joint Maneuver Training Center. This U.S. Northern Command and National Guard Bureau-sponsored operation is a special focus event for the Puerto Rico National Guard with an estimated cost of $1.5 million. It will consist of a series of training exercises designed to evaluate and enhance the readiness of the National Guard in performing state roles and responsibilities when working with other guards, local and state civilian and military emergency response agencies.
