Pfc. Austin Nichols (right), a combat medic with the U.S. Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade, trains soldiers with the Ukrainian national guard the proper application of a tourniquet Sept. 17, 2015, during combat first-aid training as part of Fearless Guardian in Yavoriv, Ukraine. The guardsmen are taught to treat various forms of combat injuries, ranging from stopping bleeding and clearing airway restrictions to applying splints to mend broken bones. The paratroopers are in Ukraine for the third rotation to train Ukraine's newly-formed national guard as part of Fearless Guardian, which is scheduled to last through November.
