POHAKULOA TRAINING AREA, HAWAII -- Cpl. Tyler Stallings, a machine gunner with India Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, prepares an ammunition belt during an air assault training event at Pohakuloa Training Area, Sept. 3, 2017. Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463 carried Marines with India Co. from Landing Zone Dove to Range 17, where they carried out platoon attacks with support from 60mm mortars and multiple machine gun emplacements. Exercise Bougainville II prepares 3/3 for service as a forward deployed force in the Pacific by training them to fight as a ground combat element in a Marine Air-Ground Task Force.
