POPE ARMY AIRFIELD, N.C. — An Air Force Special Operations
Summary
POPE ARMY AIRFIELD, N.C. — An Air Force Special Operations Command CV-22 Osprey takes off from Green Ramp here Feb. 8, 2018, near an Air Mobility Command C-17 Globemaster III during a joint Large Package Week and Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise, which was held Feb. 5-11. The CV-22 is the Special Operation Forces variant of the U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey, and enables AFSOC aircrews to execute long-range special operations missions which would normally require both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.
