Summary
Rct. Lillian Linscott, 18, Platoon 4029, Oscar Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, conducts firing drills during combat marksmanship training Aug. 8, 2013, on Parris Island, S.C. The three-to five-second drills taught recruits how to quickly engage multiple targets effectively. Linscott is from Blaine, Wash., and is scheduled to graduate Aug. 30, 2013. Approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.
