Summary
Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee visits Forward Operating Base Mehtar Lam April 18, to see service members from the Rhode Island National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 143rd Airborne Infantry Regiment, who work with the Laghman Provincial Reconstruction Team. During his visit to the forward operating base, Chafee toured the base and met and ate dinner with the soldiers. Chafee, along with Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder and South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard, toured different areas in Afghanistan over a three-day period to visit with service members from their respective states.
