Summary

ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. – A new work center has been created at Rock Island Arsenal – Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center. The Master Production Scheduling or MPS office coordinates and carries out long and short term capacity planning and scheduling while improving efficiency and productivity. This 12 employee team has a diverse background including capacity planning, resource management, operations management, estimating, production control and machining. The team’s goal includes achieving and maintaining desired production levels to meet original customer requirements by reviewing and providing viable solutions for capacity requirements, bottlenecks and constraints. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
