Summary

RUKLA, Lithuania – Candidates attending the Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader’s Course look at a finished sub-surface site Nov. 1. A sub-surface site is a hole in the ground where Soldiers will hide while conducting reconnaissance missions. The candidates went out into the Lithuanian woods to practice constructing and hiding places to hide during reconnaissance missions during day seven of the 25-day course. This is the first time the course has been held outside the United States. It is hosted by 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade in Lithuania and features Paratroopers from their unit, as well as soldiers from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia.
