Sailors aboard Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2)

Sailors aboard Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2) flagship USS Vicksburg (CG 69) stand by on the forecastle as the ship comes alongside German oil tanker Spessart (A 1442) for a replenishment at sea. Spessart recently joined SNMG2 to provide regular refueling support. SNMG2 is a multinational, integrated maritime force made up of vessels from various allied countries whose mission is to ensure the safety and security of allied waterways and provide a unified presence to deter terrorist activity in the region.
