Sailors assigned to Navy Cargo Handling Battalion

Sailors assigned to Navy Cargo Handling Battalion (NCHB) 1 establish an ammunition supply point (ASP) to simulate a forward ordnance distribution hub to process inventory control, receiving and preparation for transport using blocking and bracing procedures during Ordnance Exercise (ORDEX) 2013 at Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, Cheatham Annex. NCHB 1 is the only active duty cargo handling battalion and is a rapidly deployable operating unit of the Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group (NAVELSG). NAVELSG is part of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, a global force provider of adaptive force packages with expeditionary capabilities to joint war fighting commanders. (U. S.
