Seaman William Phommavongsay, a Marine Engineer with the Royal Canadian Navy, demonstrates how to breach a fire-filled room on June 6 during Tradewinds 2016 in Grenada. This demonstration for the Barbados Defense Force was part of an afternoon joint training exercise between the French, Canadian and United States militaries specifically designed to explain each country’s unique technique for fighting fire and pipe issues. Tradewinds 2016 is a joint combined exercise conducted in conjunction with partner nations to enhance the collective abilities of defense forces and constabularies to counter transnational organized crime and to conduct humanitarian/disaster relief operations.
