Sgt. 1st Class Raul Nieves (L), 5/80th Battalion HVAC instructor, 3rd Brigade (Ordnance), 94th Training Division - Force Sustainment, gives his block of instruction on suicide prevention during the 94th Training Division Instructor of the Year Competition on Aug. 15-17, 2019 at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey.
As the overall competition winner, Nieves was also presented with a trophy, awarded the Army Commendation Medal, offered a slot to attend the Army Air Assault School, and will automatically advance to compete in the upcoming 80th Training Command IOY Competition on Oct. 23-27, 2019.
