Sgt. Derrick Bachtell, a wheeled vehicle mechanic from Seville, Ohio, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 134th Field Artillery Regiment, on Camp Lindsey, Kandahar, Afghanistan, thanks fellow unit members after receiving the Titan of the Month award, Feb. 10, 2012. The Titan of the Month award is given to a coalition soldier, airman, sailor, Marine or civilian who has shown exemplary performance in his or her duties. Sgt. Bachtell stepped up to perform as the motor sergeant and assisted in acquiring parts for repairs, improving unit readiness by 28 percent. Award recipients are entitled to emboss their names on the Regional Support Command (South) Titan shield.
