Sgt. Kristofer R. McFate, supervises the loading of ammunition crates aboard the USNS Sacagawea April 10 at the Gwangyang Port, Republic of Korea, during exercise Freedom Banner 2014. To become a Technical Assistance and Advisory Team member a service member or contractor must possess years of knowledge in a specific field and is an expert on the subject. In total, the TAAT advised more than 10,000 Marines and sailors participating in the exercise. Freedom Banner 14 is a maritime prepositioning force ship offloading exercise that demonstrates offshore readiness of personnel and equipment to respond to a disaster relief or contingency scenario while strengthening ties between the ROK and U.S. forces.
