Soldiers and Airmen with the The West Virginia National
Summary
Soldiers and Airmen with the The West Virginia National Guard’s Joint Interagency Training and Education Center (JITEC) get hands-on training using a high-angle rescue bipod and air lifting bags during an eight-week search and rescue training and certification course in October at the Center for National Response near Galliger, W.Va. The Guard members completed six courses back-to-back, receiving technician certificates in technical rescue core, rope rescue, confined space rescue, structural collapse rescue, trench rescue, and vehicle and machinery rescue at a level that will allow them to train others in search and rescue methods as full-time instructors for JITEC.
