Spc. Alec Erhard, combat medic for the 477th Medical Company (Ground Ambulance) attached to Combined Joint Task Force – Hope, checks for vital signs on a local national boy as his family watches during a Medical Readiness Training Exercise in Canton Espino Abajo as part of Beyond the Horizon 2018 on May 28. Beyond the Horizon 2018 is a combined readiness exercise between U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) and El Salvador which provides medical campaigns and construction projects for several communities throughout La Paz Department in the Central American country.
