Spc. Mitch Ryan shouts over the din of machine gun fire during a Live Fire Exercise (LFX) at the Naval Weapon System Training Facility (NWSTF) in Boardman, Oregon on June 24, 2019. Ryan is part of HHC, 1249th Engineer Battalion and is trained as a combat engineer. The NWSTF is the only range in the state that can support the Browning M2 .50 Machine Gun and the 1249th Engineer Battalion is taking full use of it to train their Soldiers on their Mission Essential Task List (METL).
