COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (March 27, 2017) A Sri Lankan naval officer greets U.S. Marine Capt. Jeremy Oberdove, the commanding officer of Company B., Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 4th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), during a welcoming brief held at Sri Lanka Naval Headquarters, Colombo, as part of a theater security cooperation engagement, March 27. Over the course of the engagement, Marines with the 11th MEU, alongside Marines and Sailors with the Sri Lankan Navy will take part in basic military tactics exercises, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief training, and community relations projects. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
