Summary
St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Coast Guard Able Seaman Casmos Peters begins small boat maneuver training as his 33-foot Special Purpose Craft- Law Enforcement boat departs from the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard station here June 6. Peters is one of three SVG Coastguardsmen participating in small boat tactical training provided by the U.S. Coast Guard as part of Tradewinds 2014. Service members learn alternative methods of boat handling while conducting migrant trafficking, drug interdiction, and pursuit operations in their home countries. Tradewinds is a joint, combined, exercise conducted in conjunction with partner nations to enhance the collective abilities of defense forces and constabularies to counter transnational organized crime and to conduct humanitarian/disaster relief operations.
