Johnathon Solinsky (right) calibrate an M40A6 sniper rifle alongside service members from the Australian Army, May 14, 2017, during a sniper competition at the Australian Army Skills at Arms Meeting, in Puckapunyal, Australia. The meet brings together service members from 20 countries to compete in more than 60 matches featuring a variety of weapons, including the pistol, rifle and machine gun. Lucero, a native of Denver, Colorado, is the head coach of the Marine Corps Action Shooting Team, based out of Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
