STS062-16-027 - STS-062 - Payload bay of the Space Shuttle Columbia
Summary
The original finding aid described this as:
Description: Photographic documentation of the Office of Aeronautics and Space Technology-2 (OAST-2) in the Space Shuttle Columbia's payload bay taken during STS-62. OAST-2 allows for in-flight experimentation without the aide of the astronauts onboard. The experiments aboard the STS-62's OAST-2 investigated technologies for controlling and storing heat, studied the interaction between the orbiter and space, and measured the intensities of spacecraft glow as a function of temperature. The experiments were designed to support the development of advanced satellites and sensors and the international space station.
