STS062-52-035 - STS-062 - Ergometer used in evaluation of passive cycle isolation system
Summary
The original finding aid described this as:
Description: Photographic documentation of an ergometer used in evaluation of the Passive Cycle Isolation System (PCIS) on the Space Shuttle Columbia's middeck during STS-62. Commander John Casper, Pilot Andrew Allen, and Mission Specialists Pierre Thuot and Charles ``Sam`` Gemar appear in the background. The evaluation was conducted in order to compare the magnitude and frequency of vibrations transferred to the orbiter from the ergometer equipped with the PCIS to those caused by an ergometer with a hard mount and to evaluate the ease of set up and stowae of the PCIS, the impact on the performance of exercise activities, and the impact on crew habitation in the middeck.
