TARBORO, N.C. – North Carolina Army National Guard
Summary
TARBORO, N.C. – North Carolina Army National Guard soldiers, of the 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, reroute water from the downtown area, Oct. 16, 2016. One of the buildings to the left is City Hall. A team, of about 13 soldiers, has been rotating shifts to man the pumps 24/7. According to 1st Sgt. Timothy Ashley, of the 875th Engineer Company, the soldiers have been pumping 1.6 million gallons of water per minute out of the city and rerouting it back to the river. Although the town is still under about 8-feet of water, the soldiers are willing to do the work until the work is done. (Photo by Army National Guard Sgt.
