The NAVSEA Labor-Management Council inaugural meeting held, April 19, in the Samuel Gompers Ballroom of the American Federation of Labor - Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) Headquarters in Washington, D.C. (Left) Rear Adm. David Lewis, vice commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, responds to questions following discussions. Vice Adm. Kevin McCoy, NAVSEA commander, is pictured right. The council's vision is to operate through designated representatives in a cooperative arrangement to further the interests of the fleet and its work force. The council will use collaborative labor management approaches to identify problems, and find solutions, on issues of critical importance to the fleet as well as the work force.
