The Office of External Affairs hosted the April Speaker's Event on April 10, 2014 to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of FEMA, acknowledge the contributions of FEMA over three and a half decades, and provide FEMA employees with a better understanding of how emergency management operations have evolved to become the mission we support today. Selected guests spoke on the past, present, and future of emergency management. The discussion was moderated by Joshua Batkin (Director of External Affairs) and included Wayne Blanchard (former EMI professor), Francis X. McCarthy (analyst in Emergency Management Policy), Jessica Stewart (Recovery Directorate), Rita Andryushchenko (former FEMA Corps and current Response Directorate National Planning Cadre Management), and Sean M. Jolliff (FEMA Corps)
