The Afghan Uniformed Police led a patrol from the Khan Neshin precinct to a village near Qual-e Now, speaking to farmers about ongoing poppy eradication efforts and searching compounds for enemy activity. U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Alejandro Santiago and Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Nicholas Spear with the Police Advisor Team, Delta Company, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, provided guidance as needed during the patrol. Santiago is a San Francisco native and Spear is a Happy, Texas, native.
